Pallet Types: Stringer vs Block vs Skid

Understanding pallet construction helps you choose the right product for your needs.

Stringer Pallets

Use horizontal 2×4" boards (stringers) for support. Available as 2-way entry or notched for partial 4-way. The most common and cost-effective construction type.

Block Pallets

Use solid wood blocks between decks for true 4-way forklift entry. More durable than stringer pallets. Common in beverage, chemical, and automated warehouse applications.

Skid Pallets

Single-deck platform without bottom boards. Lightweight and cost-effective for heavy-duty applications. Often used as a base for permanent storage.
