Florida Pallet Supply • Updated April 2026
Pallet costs are one of the most misunderstood line items in logistics budgets. A warehouse manager buying 500 pallets per week at $14 each when Grade A recycled pallets would serve the same application at $10 each is spending $100,000 more per year than necessary. Understanding what pallets actually cost - and what drives that cost - is the foundation of a smarter pallet program.
This guide breaks down 2026 pallet pricing across all grades, sizes, and volume tiers, with specific data for the Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware markets that Florida Pallet Supply serves.
The GMA 48x40 is the standard pallet used in 80%+ of US supply chains. Here's the current price range for standard single-truckload orders in our five-state service area:
Floor storage only. Functional but cosmetically damaged. Best for internal staging and non-racking applications.
General warehousing and distribution. Minor repairs acceptable. The workhorse for most manufacturing and 3PL operations.
Near-new condition. Food & bev, racking, customer-facing. 25-40% savings vs new with equivalent performance.
Full new pallet. Required for pharmaceuticals, direct food contact, cleanroom. Premium for guaranteed no-prior-use history.
Prices are for standard single-truckload (60-80 pallets) orders. Volume discounts apply at 200+ pallets/week. Lumber market fluctuations may affect pricing. Contact us for current exact pricing.
The GMA 48x40 is the most common and typically lowest-cost size because of supply volume. Larger or non-standard sizes carry a premium:
| Pallet Size | Grade B Recycled | Grade A Recycled | New |
|---|---|---|---|
| 48x40 GMA (standard) | $5 - $9 | $9 - $13 | $14 - $18 |
| 42x42 | $7 - $11 | $11 - $15 | $16 - $21 |
| 48x48 | $8 - $13 | $13 - $17 | $18 - $24 |
| 40x40 | $6 - $10 | $10 - $14 | $15 - $20 |
| 60x40 | $10 - $15 | $15 - $20 | $22 - $30 |

ISPM-15 heat treatment is required for all US export shipments. The premium over standard pallets:
| Pallet Type | Standard Price | Heat Treated Price | HT Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| New GMA 48x40 | $14 - $18 | $16 - $22 | +$2 - $4 |
| Grade A Recycled GMA | $9 - $13 | $11 - $17 | +$2 - $4 |
| Grade B Recycled GMA | $5 - $9 | $7 - $13 | +$2 - $4 |

| Weekly Volume | Typical Price (Grade A Recycled) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 load / 60-80 pallets | $11 - $13 | Single load, spot pricing |
| 200-500 pallets/week | $10 - $12 | Standing order discount |
| 500-1,000 pallets/week | $9 - $11 | Volume account pricing |
| 1,000+ pallets/week | $8 - $10 | Contract pricing, call for quote |
| 5,000+ pallets/week | Custom quote | Direct account management |
Four factors drive most of the variation in pallet pricing:
Pallet lumber tracks southern yellow pine (SYP) framing lumber indices. When lumber spikes - as it did in 2021 - new pallet prices follow. Recycled pallets are partially insulated from lumber volatility since they don't require new lumber, but still move with market direction.
Grade is the biggest lever you control. Choosing Grade B over Grade A when Grade B is appropriate for your application saves $3-$5 per pallet. At 500 pallets/week, that's $78,000-$130,000 per year. Read our grade comparison guide to identify the right grade.
Standing weekly orders earn better pricing than spot buys for two reasons: suppliers can plan inventory and delivery routes, reducing their costs; and predictable customers earn preferential pricing. A 500-pallet/week standing order typically earns $1-$3/pallet below spot pricing.
Long haul delivery adds freight cost that must be passed through. Our five-state coverage (FL, GA, NJ, MD, DE) allows regional sourcing that minimizes delivery cost premiums vs. sourcing nationally. In-state delivery typically costs $0-$0.50/pallet more than local; cross-state hauls can add $1-$2/pallet.
Pallet prices vary by region due to lumber availability, local supply density, and market competition. Here's how pricing compares across the five states Florida Pallet Supply serves:
| State | Grade A Recycled GMA | New GMA | Market Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Florida | $9 - $13 | $14 - $18 | Strong demand, competitive recycled market near major DCs |
| Georgia | $8 - $12 | $13 - $17 | Closer to SYP lumber mills; slight price advantage on new |
| New Jersey | $9 - $14 | $14 - $19 | High demand from pharma, logistics corridors; dense competition |
| Maryland | $9 - $13 | $14 - $18 | Similar to NJ; Port of Baltimore export demand supports HT pricing |
| Delaware | $9 - $13 | $14 - $18 | Primarily served from NJ/MD; pricing similar to mid-Atlantic average |
Three levers account for most of the savings opportunity in any pallet program:

Get Free QuoteBlock pallets typically cost 25-50% more than stringer pallets of equivalent grade and size. This premium reflects heavier wood use (9 blocks vs 3 stringers), higher labor content in manufacturing, and the true four-way entry design. For most standard GMA applications, stringer pallets are sufficient. Block pallets are the better investment when: automation or pallet jacks require four-way entry; load weights exceed 2,500 lbs; or the pallet will be reused many times in a closed-loop system where durability pays back the upfront premium.
